This edition: Is "The Post" Historically Accurate or Fake News?

Episode Details

Original tape date: February 20, 2018.

First aired: February 26, 2018.

“The Post,” starring Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks is up for two Oscars. But, is it faithful to history in its account of The Washington Post’s Pentagon Papers Case? James Goodale, former vice chair and general counsel of The New York Times, lived the story. He tells Jim Zirin that “The Post” is a Hollywood fantasy, and The Post merely rode the coattails of The Times, which had the inside track.
