Original tape date: November 14, 2003.
Kate Valk found her “artistic home” with the Wooster Group after studying acting at NYU with Stella Adler, and then with the Experimental Theatre Wing. Beginning in the 1970s and continuing today, the New York City-based Wooster Group produces interesting and innovative theatre.. She discusses the move toward more conservative theatre after the 1970s, and the criticism Wooster received from playwrights like Arthur Miller for reworking their pieces in order to explore the themes of their plays more deeply.
