President of the New York Hotel & Motel Trades Council, AFL-CIO; Business Manager of Hotel, Restaurant & Club Employees and Bartenders Union, Local 6; Recording Secretary of the International Union, UNITE HERE; Vice President of the New York City Central Labor Council, and Vice President of the New York State AFL-CIO. He started working for Local 6 in 1979, became a union organizer in 1980, Business Agent in 1981, and Vice President in 1984. In 1985, he was appointed as our union's Director of Organizing. In 1995, he was elected leader (Business Manager) of Local 6, and in 1996, President of the New York Hotel Trades Council. He was chief negotiator for our union in the 2001, 2006, and 2012 negotiations for the Industry-Wide Agreement. As President, he is the chief executive officer of our union.
