Bio

Susie serves as the President and Chief Creative Officer of Encantos Media, PBC (“Encantos”), the purpose-driven family entertainment and education company building direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands for today’s multicultural world. An award-winning artist, producer and creative director, Susie has spent over two decades building beloved brands through technology, entertainment, advertising, media and marketing.

Inspired by a world of cultures and seeking to bring to life diverse stories that weren’t being told, Susie co-founded Encantos as a public benefit corporation in 2015. She created the first Encantos brand called Canticos, the Emmy-nominated Latino-inspired bilingual nursery rhyme series which launched in 2016. With its innovative apps, books and sing-along videos, Canticos has received widespread industry accolades and awards including Common Sense Media, Kidscreen, Kirkus, Publishers Weekly, The New York Times and School Library Journal. In 2017, Encantos announced a partnership with Viacom’s Nickelodeon to distribute Canticos exclusively across Nick Jr. platforms and a consumer products line set to debut in fall 2019.

Prior to Encantos, Susie was the Chief Creative Officer and Co-Founder of one of the top five multicultural creative agencies in the US called The Vox Collective. As one of the few female Chief Creative Officers, Susie developed impactful and business-driving creative campaigns helping dozens of Fortune 500 brands better engage with diverse consumers including Coca-Cola, General Motors, Macy’s, Pernod Ricard and Verizon Wireless.

A passionate supporter of women and diversity initiatives as well as creative and design education, Susie earned a B.A. in Communication Design with a focus on Painting & Illustration from the Pratt Institute. A proud Venezuelan-American, Susie lives in Brooklyn with her husband and two children.
