Black America: 10 Years of Truth, Triumph & Transformation | Black America
For ten years, Black America has told our stories and helped shape the conversation about our future. From celebrating the opening of the National Museum of African American History and Culture, to visiting Birmingham, Alabama and exploring the historic A.G. Gaston Motel where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. strategized during the Civil Rights Movement — we have witnessed history and honored legacy.
We’ve engaged in powerful conversations with filmmakers, physicians, thought leaders, and barrier-breaking history makers who continue to influence where we are today in Black America.
In this special commemorative edition, hosted by Carol Jenkins, we look back at the moments that moved us, the voices that inspired us, and the vision that continues to guide us forward.

No One Can Tell Like We Can Tell It | Black America
Author and journalist A'Lelia Bundles shares the remarkable history of her great-grandmother, A'Lelia Walker—renowned cultural patron of the Harlem Renaissance and daughter of pioneering businesswoman Madam C.J. Walker. Through personal insight and historical research, Bundles brings to life the legacy of Black entrepreneurship, philanthropy, and artistic empowerment that defined her family’s impact on American history.
She is joined by author and historian Eric K. Washington, who explores the life and legacy of James H. Williams, the influential Chief Porter at Grand Central Terminal. Washington highlights Williams’ leadership, civic engagement, and the often-overlooked contributions of Black railroad workers to the economic and social fabric of New York City.
Together, these scholars illuminate powerful stories of leadership, resilience, and cultural influence in Black history.
