From her start in the air force studying engineering, to moving on to being the president of Mills College, Beth's experience prepared her to lead the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, one of the country's leading museums, when she was appointed in 2022. As the museum prepares for the 25th anniversary of that horrific day, Beth talks about educating the younger generation about the tragedies and lessons of 9/11 and the fallout from the attacks.

NYC Schools Chancellor Kamar Samuels | Café con Felo
On this episode of Café con Felo, Chancellor Félix V. Matos Rodríguez speaks with NYC Schools Chancellor Kamar Samuels. Mr. Samuels was appointed as chancellor of the school system in January of this year. Previous to this, he was a teacher, principal, and superintendent. He has earned three CUNY degrees.

Whitney Curator Marcela Guerrero | Café con Felo
On this episode of Café con Felo, Chancellor Félix V. Matos Rodríguez speaks with Whitney Curator Marcela Guerrero, who is the co-curator of the 2026 Whitney Biennial. In 2022, she became the first Latina principal curator in the history of the Whitney Museum of American Art. She has been instrumental in increasing Latin representation at the museum as well as installing bilingual captions for the artwork. Ms. Guerrero grew up in Puerto Rico before earning multiple degrees from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
