On this special Inauguration Day episode of CUNY Laureates, we look back at three remarkable CUNY graduates who won major awards in their respective fields and who all, in their own way, furthered the cause of democracy in America. Nobel laureate Kenneth Arrow’s love of mathematics resulted in some groundbreaking economic theories and some tough lessons about how society makes choices. MacArthur Fellow Cristina Jiménez Moreta helped win a historic victory for immigrant rights by sharing the stories of young people like herself. And Pulitzer Prize winner A.M. Rosenthal climbed to the top of the New York Times masthead to steer the paper through one of the most important legal challenges in US history.
