Featuring works from students, alumni, and faculty, the CUNY Graduate Center Filmmakers Showcase is a vibrant celebration of cinema and moving image art. Founded in 2023, this annual event provides a distinctive space for cultural exchange, honoring both emerging and established voices.

👥 Meet the Guests

Elizabeth Alsop, host and coordinator of the Film and Media Cultures Certificate Program at the CUNY Graduate Center, leads a conversation on the Graduate Center’s role in developing filmmakers whose work offers fresh glimpses into experimental art, human connection, and multimedia production.

Julia Barlas is an actor, stage director, and educator whose work moves between stage and screen. She has directed productions in educational settings, Off-Off-Broadway, and internationally. Manny the Barber is her documentary debut.

Yuleisy Audain is a filmmaker drawn to atmosphere, movement, and the quiet stories that live within everyday spaces. Her work pays close attention to mood and place. She is the director of the video essay Mind the Gap.

Zoe Tanner is a conceptual artist working across mediums. Her work explores memory and storytelling through the physical traces we leave behind. She is the director of the experimental short Loving Cats.
