About this series

21st Century is a half-hour news magazine produced by United Nations Television, featuring underreported stories from around the world. Each episode has two to three stories about important issues.  Recent segments have includes the Republic of Congo’s fight against cholera; African migrants in Mexico; the lethal legacy of coal in South Africa; women’s rights in Iraq; the at-risk ecosystem in Trinidad and Tobago; the clash between energy and the environment in the Amazon; disappearing elephants in India; and the face of AIDS in America.  Other segments are profiles of outstanding individuals are who are making a difference in their homelands.
