This ambitious exhibit explores the impact and influence of China’s aesthetics on the imagination of Western fashion designers, including Ralph Lauren, Christian Dior and Roberto Cavalli. Each room is dedicated to a certain theme, including the artistry of filmmaker Zhang Yimou’s “Raise The Red Lantern” and the Academy Award winning film “The Last Emperor."
Reporter Minnie Roh interviews award winning fashion designer Anna Sui who talk about her global empire of clothing, fragrance and accessories. Anna Sui has become the most versatile designer of our time and is a favorite of Madonna, Keith Richards and other rock n’ roll celebrities.
Reporter Paul Lin interviews Muna Tseng, sister of photographer Tseng Kwong Chi who died of AIDS in 1990’s but left behind a decade’s worth of work. This is the first solo exhibit dedicated to his photographs and art at the Grey Art Gallery in Manhattan.
