March 16th marks four years since eight people were killed at three spa’s in the Atlanta Georgia area.  Six of those victims were Asian women.  The tragedy became a turning point for Asian Americans who demanded that the senseless violence be stopped. As a result, President Biden passed the Covid 19 Hate Crime Act in 2021, but the bill hasn’t curtailed anti-Asian hate or xenophobia.  Recently Stop AAPI Hate reports that a surge in racism continues due to the Trump administration’s scapegoating tactics and anti-immigration policies.  In Asian American Life special edition “Confronting Asian Hate,” we feature the filmmakers who documented the Atlanta Spa shooting in “Rising Against Asian Hate, One Day In March.” Plus we speak with political and community leaders who are at the frontlines of combatting anti-Asian hate crimes during this trying time.
