Choreographer Claudia Schreier is known for her "distinctive choreographic voice that fuses neoclassical technique with a contemporary vocabulary". For over 10 years, Claudia has presented full-evening performances of her work in New York and California featuring dancers from New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, and Dance Theatre of Harlem and has collaborated with many legends in dance. During this discussion, we will take a look at some of Claudia's work, discuss the concept of dance design, the importance music plays in what she creates and women of color in classical dance.
