Host, Jerry Carlson, professor of film studies at The City College of the City University of New York, discusses "The Lady with the Dog" (a film adaptation of a short story with the same name by Anton Chekhov) with George Malko, screen writer, novelist and Chekhov translator. Malko and Carlson explain why Iosif Kheifits's film adaptation of "The Lady with the Dog" is considered a "classic" adaptation. Malko provides an in-depth examination of the process and challenges of translating and adapting literature.
