Host, Jerry Carlson, professor of film studies at The City College of the City University of New York, discusses "The Fierce One" ("Lyutyy") with Louis Menashe, Professor Emeritus at the Polytechnic Institute of New York University. Menashe and Carlson describe the film's portrayal of nature and a nomadic society. Menashe explains why the 1970's is considered the "golden period of Soviet films" and explains the film-making process in the Soviet Union in the 1970's.
