The Story of Asya Klyachina (officially titled The Story of Asya Klyachina, Who Loved, But Did Not Marry) is a seminal 1966 Soviet film directed by Andrei Konchalovsky. Renowned for its raw, neo-realist portrayal of rural life, the film was so starkly at odds with official "Socialist Realism." The story is set in a post-war Soviet village during the grain harvest and centers on Asya Klyachina (played by Iya Savvina), a hardworking collective farmer with a distinctive limp.
