Yes, New York City is vanishing says filmmakers Fiore DeRosa and Jen Senko in their 2010 documentary, “The Vanishing City.” Told through the eyes of city planners, developers, politicians, small business owners, landlords and tenants, the film looks at the emergent post-industrial “luxury” city of New York. Fiore DeRosa is a long time lower Manhattan resident and an award winning film and theater director. He founded and was the Creative Director of The Abraxxas Theater in New York City, and previously was the Managing Director of Hunger Theater of Philadelphia. Jen Senko is an award-winning filmmaker and a long-time Soho resident. Senko's first documentary, “Road Map Warrior Women,” won recognition with several festival awards. Over the past ten years she's been involved in writing, directing, producing, casting and shooting. She started her LLC, JSenko Productions, in order to produce a number of independent films, including “Downsizing of the Gods” and “Jesus Cares. Guess Who Doesn't.”
