On this episode of City Works, host Laura Flanders is joined by Professor John Mollenkopf from the CUNY Graduate Center and Professor Robin D. G. Kelley of UCLA to examine the shift by many low-income voters to the Republican Party in the last election cycle. Is a renewed focus needed on economic class alone, or does a retreat from social issues harm working class interests? Can both be true? The three discuss and debate the strategies needed for working class advocacy in the years to come.
