On this episode of City Works, host Laura Flanders presents excerpts from the recent CUNY SLU panel discussion, “Lessons from 100 Years of Black Labor Activism,” which featured Professor Cedric de Leon of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Associate Professor Tamara Lee of Rutgers University, and the author and activist Bill Fletcher Jr., moderated by CUNY SLU’s Assistant Professor Cameron Black. The four discuss the often unknown or ignored history of contributions to the labor movement by black workers and organizers, and how that history is alive and still being written today.
