In 1966, the new Metropolitan Opera House at Lincoln Center opened with an iconic performance by diva Leontyne Price of Samuel Barber’s Antony & Cleopatra. Peter Gelb, the Met’s General Manager, tells Jim Zirin of his new documentary The Opera House, and says that the move from the old opera house wasn’t seamless, but the happy ending made it all worthwhile.
