How does the Mayor employ the NYPD to face the gang violence? Likewise, does the plan integrate answers to the housing, employment and educational disparities that many times catalyzes the violence and crime? Does empowering police further quell the uptick in crime or does it return one of the safest big cities in America to a time when police overreach dominated headlines. Has bail reform contributed to more crime or more justice? The panel will explore the questions above and many more.

    The audience consists of students participating in the CUNY Edward T. Rogowsky Internship Program in Government and Public Affairs, who are encouraged to question and interact with the panel.
