Since Mayor Bloomberg's proposal to charge vehicles entering the most congested areas of Manhattan in 2007, congestion pricing legislation has been dissected endlessly and recently reappeared as a new version that is on the verge of affecting the lives of millions of New Yorkers, and non-New Yorkers, daily. Does the new plan help the environment or simply shift the burden to poor areas outside Manhattan? Is resident health and the environment the primary concern for change or is raising revenue the priority? If enacted, how will it affect the gig economy in NYC, specifically Uber, Lyft and delivery services? These, and other questions, will be explored.

    The audience consists of students participating in the CUNY Edward T. Rogowsky Internship Program in Government and Public Affairs, who are encouraged to question and interact with the panel.
