First, we get a history lesson on the Pulitzer Prize and its namesake, Joseph Pulitzer, who helped set new standards for how journalism is recognized. Then, Angela Hill shines a light on the often unseen passions and pain surrounding one of America's most controversial weapons. Finally, we honor National Hispanic Heritage Month by remembering the first Latino author to win a Pulitzer Prize in fiction: Oscar Hijuelos.
