From Juilliard to Brooklyn College, Sylvan Fox took a chance on a career change and became a celebrated figure in the fast-paced world of local news. Ada Louise Huxtable, a Hunter College alum who became the first full-time architecture critic at the New York Times, used her writing talent to fight for the soul of our city. And Queens College graduate Lloyd Schwartz has explored American language in a long and fruitful career as a poet, critic, and educator.
