On this episode of CUNY Laureates, we profile another three Pulitzer Prize winners who graduated from the City University of New York. With his book, The Uprooted, Brooklyn College alum Oscar Handlin helped change how America saw its own history, and itself. Gregory Pardlo, an alum of the CUNY Graduate Center, writes poetry that fuses his own life with observations on family history, America, culture and myth. And from Brooklyn to Ireland and back again, Frank McCourt escaped unbearable poverty to not only enlighten young minds through teaching, but also to captivate the world with his stirring memoir.
