Host James Day interviews Marcel Marceau, one of the world’s greatest mimes, who revolutionized the art form. He talks about his early life, joining the French resistance during the German Occupation. He later established his own mime company and a school in Paris in 1959. He discusses the nuances of art, the importance of gestures and facial expressions, the relationship to the audience, and his inspirations- including the theater style of kabuki. Taped at KQED in San Francisco.
