Original tape date: March 28, 2006.Recently, The New York Historical Society mounted an extremely popular exhibit called “Slavery in New York.” The president of the Historical Society, Dr. Mirrer discusses the success of this exhibit, which was seen by over 66,000 students and reviewed in every major city across the world. She also discusses the history of the Society, touches on the importance of fundraising, and speaks of the museum's collection of Audubon watercolors, the largest collection in the world. Dr. Mirrer talks about her past as the former Executive Vice Chancellor of CUNY and shares highlights of the Historical Society's upcoming exhibits.
