First aired: October 19, 2011.CUNY TV producer Sara Porath and artist Wilhelmina Grant join Ronnie to discuss how surviving breast cancer has inspired them to share their journeys. Ms. Porath has produced a CUNY TV documentary titled “I’m Not Alone,” which shows audiences that there is a support system for people dealing with this disease. Ms. Grant has taken to showcasing her fight through her artwork. As a mixed-media assemblage artist, Ms. Grant uses discarded or found objects, which she repurposes into visual art. The women discuss the significance of early detection and the need for being proactive in your own healthcare.
