First aired: December 14, 2022.César Chox indigenous artist, he arrived at sixteen to NYC, after living in the US for more than 10 years he visits Jesús Peña -a lawyer from Asociación Tepeyac de NY, to consult on what can he do to bring his child, who lives in Guatemala, and adjust the status of his wife who recently arrived to the US. Yhasmine Moran, former BMCC & Hunter College alumni, is a dancer with the Calpulli Mexican Dance company, and with Felicia Avalos, also a member of the company, they talk about the performance they're doing at the Hudson River Dance Festival and the experience of becoming Rehearsal assistant within the dance company. Ana and Maria Vera are some of the driving forces at the NYSYLC, they are also sisters and CUNY students. We hear them talk about their lives growing up in the US away from their Mexican culture and loved ones, while reflecting on the activism and social work that they do.
