While documentary filmmakers await all-important Academy Award nominations for Best Documentary Feature of 2013, host Pat Collins takes a look at the most powerful theatrical documentaries of the past year in the latest edition of INCREDIBLE INDIES.

Collins offers profiles of ten documentaries, including Blackfish, Cutie and the Boxer, Dirty Wars, Inequality for All, Manhunt, Musicwood, Sound City, Terms & Conditions May Apply, 20 Feet from Stardom, and We Steal Secrets – The Story of WikiLeaks. Then she interviews a panel of filmmakers about making their films: Barbara Rick, an Emmy and Peabody Award-winning director (In Good Conscience – Sister Jeannine Gramick’s Journey of Faith from 2004) and President of Out of The Blue Films, Inc.; Joel Heath, director of People of A Feather (2013); Kathleen Treat, Executive Producer, After the Fall: HIV Grows Up (2012); and Andrew J. Muscato, producer of Schooled – The Price of College Sports. The panel offers thoughts on emotional attachments to their subjects; ways to gain the trust of prospective participants in the films; insights into technology and distribution; and advice for those who want to make films.
