First on ITALICS, we’ll join the New York Conference of Italian American State Legislators as they hold their annual Weekend Conference at the State Capital in Albany, N.Y. NYCIASL is a Bi-Partisan group dedicated to the preservation and promotion of their shared Italian American heritage throughout New York State. The Legislator’s Conference employs its annual weekend meeting to meet and work closely with local Italian American groups and organizations, and to help them to create and define an agenda to effectively further shared community goals. The Weekend Conference consists of workshops, panels, lectures, Film and other Artistic presentations, Plenary Sessions and Scholarship Presentations to deserving and qualified young students. The Weekend traditionally culminates Monday evening with the “Festa Italiana,” the Capital Region’s largest “Street Fair”, held at the Troy Italian American Community Center in nearby Troy, N.Y.
