In the first of our “New Italian Americans” series, we begin to explore the latest influx of Italians to New York – much different from those we remember from sepia-toned photographs. Correspondent Lucia Grillo takes us to New York’s Lower East Side to talk with up-and-coming pianist and composer Moira LoBianco about her journey from Calabria, Italy to the prestigious Berklee School of Music in Boston, and a career in classical and jazz, with a live performance from her latest album, Lunaria.
Joining us at the John D. Calandra Italian American Institute is actor Edoardo Ballerini, who amongst the many Italian American and Italian roles he has played on such acclaimed TV shows as Boardwalk Empire, Sopranos, and White Collar, amongst others, recently added that of Carlo Tresca to the roster, in his latest film “No God, No Master.”
Step inside the St. Regis Hotel for a conversation with the National Organization Of Italian American Women’s 2014 honoree, Lisa Lemole Oz – writer, producer, entrepreneur, and host of the “Lisa Oz Show” – forging a bright, healthy future – for couples; and for the next generation.
