In this special CUNY TV presentation of LATiNAS and Theater: All the Moving Parts, Tinabeth Piña and Patrick Pacheco host a half-hour special exploring the past, present, and future of Latinos on Broadway. Joined by correspondents Juan Torres Falcón, Isabel Ortiz and Anny Ruiz Huayamambe, the program highlights Latino contributions to the Great White Way and the voices shaping its future.

FEATURING:
“Buena Vista Social Club” — A look at the Broadway milestone inspired by the beloved Cuban music collective, featuring interviews with cast members Ashley De La Rosa and Da’Von T. Moody.

“Real Women Have Curves” — Actress Florencia Cuenca and Tony Award–winning choreographer and director Sergio Trujillo reflect on representation, movement, and telling Latino stories at scale.

Eileen Galindo — A veteran film, stage, and television actor whose decades-spanning career reflects both artistic range and sustained advocacy. Galindo discusses craft, longevity, and visibility for Latina performers, drawing on work that spans Off-Broadway and regional theater, acclaimed independent films, and major television series. From appearing opposite Chita Rivera onstage to recent screen work including the Academy Award–nominated short film “The Letter Room,” she reflects on what it means to build a career—and push for change—across generations of the industry.

Pregones/PRTT — Artistic Director Rosalba Rolón discusses decades of championing Latino theater in New York and the vital role of Off-Broadway institutions.

The History of Latinos on Broadway — A wide-ranging historical look at Latino presence on Broadway, from early pioneers to contemporary trailblazers. Theater critic and CUNY professor Kimberly Ramírez offers context on authorship, visibility, and how Latino artists have increasingly taken control of their own narratives.

R.Evolución Latina — Founder Luis Salgado reflects on advocacy, education, and building pipelines for Latino artists.

Inside Broadway — Executive Director Katie McAllister explores access, arts education, and nurturing the next generation of theater-makers.
