En este episodio empezamos con Carmen Boullosa, que recibe en su casa a Jorge Franco, escritor colombiano que percibe a nuestra ciudad como “el sitio conde confluye el mundo”.  De ahí nos vamos Wash. Heights zona esencialmente dominicana, con Erja Vettenranta, finlandesa que por sus vivencias el lugar donde vive, ahora esta haciendo su maestría en lengua española. Después nos trasladamos a bushwick brooklyn, otro barrio esencialmente latino, a conocer algo de lo que hace la organización Se Hace Camino al Andar, donde escuchamos el constante coqueteo con el spanglish o el ir y venir del español al inglés.  Y finalmente Patricio Lerzundi, nos lleva al Valle del Hudson, para conversar con el Dr. Francisco Montaño, pediatra español que se ha especializado en el tratamiento de alergias y asma y nos da una breve introducción al tema.

Today, we begin with Carmen Boullosa who  hosts Jorge Franco, a Colombian writer who perceives our city as the place "where the world comes together."  From there, we go to Washington Heights mostly Dominican area, with Erja Vettenranta a Finnish native who, because of where she lives is now working towards a Masters in Spanish. Then, we go to Bushwick, Brooklyn another basically Latino neighborhood to learn about some the work of Make the Road by Walking where we hear the constant flirting between English and Spanish, known as Spanglish.  And, finally, Patricio Lerzundi takes us to the Hudson Valley to talk to Dr. Francisco Montaño, a Spanish pediatrician who specializes in treating allergies and asthma and gives us a brief introduction on the subject.
