En nuestro programa especial dedicado a la música, comenzamos nuestro recorrido en el bajo-este de Manhattan, en el estudio musical TuCasa, centro que lleva más de 30 años sirviendo a la comunidad de músicos de la ciudad y por el que han pasado figuras míticas como Héctor Lavoe y Eddie Palmieri. Allí, Carlos "Chino" García, su fundador, nos habla del papel fundamental que ha tenido este estudio en la historia y transformación del barrio.

A continuación, nos acercamos a Brooklyn donde Carmen Boullosa recibe a la cantante peruana Eva Ayllón. Con más de cuarenta años en el mundo de la música, Eva recuerda de forma cálida sus inicios y revela los sentimientos y experiencias que alimentan sus canciones.

Y para terminar, nos encontramos con Radio Jarocho, un grupo de músicos y bailadores que se han dado a la tarea de recrear en esta ciudad, la costumbre de los Fandangos: fiestas que se dan en torno a una tarima donde el sonido del zapateado y el sonar de las jaranas nos llevan hasta el sur de Veracruz en México.

In our special show devoted to music, we'll begin our journey in Manhattan's Lower East Side, at the TuCasa music studio, a center, which has served the music community of this city for over 30 years and where numerous iconic figures like Héctor Lavoe y Eddie Palmieri have worked. Carlos "Chino" García, its founder, will tell us about the key role the studio has played in the history and evolution of this neighborhood.

Later on, we will cross the East River to Brooklyn, where Carmen Boullosa interviews Peruvian singer Eva Ayllón. With over 40 years in the music industry, Eva fondly remembers her beginnings and reveals the sentiments and experiences that foster her songs.

Finally, we meet Radio Jarocho, a group of musicians and dancers who have devoted themselves to recreating in this city the customs of the fandangos: parties held around a dancing board, where the sounds
of the “zapateado” and the “jaranas” take us to the Tuxtlas region of Veracruz, in the South Center of Mexico.
