-----------
We're devoting this issue of Nueva York to Latin American cinema. These conversations on the seventh art will take us from the city of New York to the island of Cuba and other corners of Latin America.
We'll begin in uptown Manhattan, at the home of Rosalba Cruz, mother of Cuban film director Jorge Fuentes. She'll tell us about their long-distance relationship, which becomes the starting point of a journey that takes us to the streets of Havana, where Jorge Fuentes himself will tell us about his life and work.
Back in Manhattan, we'll interview Juan Fischer. This Colombian filmmaker tells us about the creative process of the stories behind his feature films and about how his experience as a Latino in New York has brought a new insight into his writing and directing.
We'll finish in the Havana Film Festival offices in downtown Manhattan, where Patricio Lerzundi will meet Elena Vilardell, director of the film support program Ibermedia, an institution that has spent over 12 year facilitating co-production and distribution of Ibero-American cinema.
