Original tape date: February 17, 2011.El cortometraje latinoamericano es hoy punto de referencia en la cinematografía mundial y esto se debe en parte a la labor de las escuelas de cine. En este episodio rendimos homenaje a la Fundación Universidad del Cine (FUC) de Buenos Aires en cuyas aulas se han formado algunos de los más reconocidos directores del cine argentino contemporáneo.
Mario Santos y María Marta Antín, directivos de la Universidad del Cine, presentan una muestra de cortos realizados en diferentes etapas de esta escuela en sus veinte años de vida. “Bar de Mala Muerte” de Guillermo Grillo, pertenece a la primera etapa de producción de la FUC, “Una forma estúpida de decir adiós” de Paulo Pécora, cuyo tratamiento visual y narrativo le valió invitaciones a reconocidos festivales internacionales y “Guernica” dirigida por Rosario Cervio, una de las más recientes y vanguardistas de sus producciones.

Today, Latin American short films are a point of reference for the film industry around the world. In this episode we pay tribute to the Fundación Universidad del Cine (FUC) in Buenos Aires. The school has contributed to the formation of some of the most renowned contemporary Argentine film directors.
Mario Santos and María Marta Antín, Senior staff of the Universidad del Cine, present a sample of short films produced in various stages the school’s twenty years of life: “A Crummy Cafe” by Guillermo Grillo, belonging to the early years of production of the FUC, “A Stupid Way of Saying Goodbye” by Paulo Pécora, whose visual and narrative treatment earned him invitations to renowned international festivals, and "Guernica" directed by Rosario Cervio, one of the most recent and cutting-edge productions.
