We spoke with Somos Guerreras, a hip-hop band that consists of Rebeca Lane, from Guatemala, Nakury, from Costa Rica, and Audrey Funk, from Mexico. They use music as an organizational tool for empowerment and cooperation. At the premiere of the documentary Councilwoman, we interview the main character, Dominican councilwoman for Rhode Island Carmen Castillo. She'll tell us how her work for the improvement of her community without quitting her job as a hotel housekeeper. In Upper Manhattan at the episcopal church Holyrood in Washington Heights, we talk to Amanda Morales. The Guatemalan mother who was the first immigrant to seek sanctuary in New York City under Trump's administration.
