Cuban writer Marcial talks to Carmen Boullosa about how Havana and Cienfuegos have played a big role in becoming a writer, and inspiration for his novels Call Me Casandra and La Catedral de Los Negros. In Queens, Andrea Salazar, a Colombian who was given six months to live tells us how after five years, she has learned that through faith she can see cancer is an opportunity to change. In Brooklyn, Andre and José demonstrate how food brings people together. By cooking a big Paella they want to teach their kids their traditions and roots.
