First aired: June 9, 2022.NUEVA YORK celebrates LGBT and genders non-conforming Pride Month with three stories that reaffirm our conviction of respect for all people; regardless of their biological sex, sex-affective orientation, or sexual or gender identity. Andres Montoya-Montes shares with us how he had to face the conflicts between religion and his sexual preferences from a very young age and courageously create a healing dialogue with his family, especially with his mother. A student at City College, Diana De La Pava tells how she always wanted to be a mother, and to establish a healthy relationship with her daughter, she had to look at the roots of the tense relationship with her family. We go to the IATI Theater in the East Village to interview makeup artist Barbara Kent. Bárbara tells us about her origins in Mexico and her harsh experiences as a transgender woman in the United States, as well as the progressive acceptance of the trans community in recent decades.
