Katherine Jiménez, a graduate of Alvin Ailey School, a dancer in the movie "In the Heights" and the first instructor to teach mambo New York style at the prestigious Ailey Extension. Elisa Crespo, director of the non-conforming gender safety organization New Pride Agenda, a CUNY John Jay College alumnus and the first transgender Latina to run in the New York City Council elections. Christian Peña, a filmmaker who came to the U.S. as a student in search of the American dream and who, far away from his family, tells stories that seek to break down prejudices. Mafer Bandola, musician and educator talking about how she learned to play the bandola llanera, the traditional Venezuelan instrument seldom handled by women.
