Original tape date: August 1, 2025. First aired: August 14, 2025.Fashion photographer Alexis Rodriguez-Duarte and stylist Tico Torres have captured some of the most iconic Latin figures of the past 30 years, including their close friend Celia Cruz. One of their portraits of the “Queen of Salsa” now appears on the new U.S. quarter. On the High Line in New York, we meet Colombian artist and filmmaker Iván Argote, winner of the fourth High Line Plinth commission, whose monumental sculpture Dinosaurio—a giant dove reflecting on history and peace—will be on view until spring 2026. We close with Anapaula Guajardo, a Mexican writer, comedian, and actress whose bilingual comedy breaks stereotypes and builds cultural bridges. Performing at events like the New York Queer Comedy Festival, she was named Standup of the Year by The People’s Improv Theatre.
