Episode Details

Original tape date: December 1, 2025. First aired: December 11, 2025.

Our December episode embraces the true spirit of Christmas with uplifting stories from the heart of our Latino community. We meet Doris Benítez, a behavioral therapist whose immigrant journey inspired her mission to guide others through the emotional challenges of beginning a new life in this country.

In Midtown, we visit La Charcuterie, the vibrant bar-café founded by Colombian entrepreneurs Luisa Ramírez and Sara Rojas, who are redefining NYC’s event-planning scene with creativity, courage, and the drive instilled by their immigrant families.

In Brooklyn, we speak with photographer Stephanie Keith, whose striking images documenting the human impact of ICE operations at Federal Plaza have resonated globally—even appearing on the cover of New York Magazine.

And from Hostos Community College, we feature Alexis Mendoza, director of the Latin American Art Triennial, which this year showcases more than 800 artists from Latin America and the diaspora, with distinguished participation from CUNY.
