This edition: Is a recession on the horizon?

Episode Details

Original tape date: August 22, 2019. First aired: August 23, 2019.

The Trump administration is denying an economic slowdown or even a recession might occur in 2020, but now admits to considering steps to stimulate the economy. What are the chances of a recession, and what would be the causes of it? Nobel Prize winning economist and NYTimes columnist Paul Krugman weighs in.

You may not know Zachary Carter's name, but he's had a major impact on NYC. He's retiring as the city's top lawyer, after settling the case of The Central Park Five and reining in the NYPD's controversial "stop and frisk" policy. And as US Attorney for the Eastern District, he prosecuted Jordan Belfort, the Wall Street fraudster portrayed by Leonardo DiCaprio in "The Wolf of Wall Street."
