TweetEpisode Details
Original tape date: June 10, 2020. First aired: June 12, 2020.Segment one: After nearly 3 months of lockdown, New York City has begun reopening its economy. There are major challenges, including an overnight subway shutdown and a huge tourism industry that has evaporated. All of this is happening on the heels of big, mostly peaceful but sometimes violent demonstrations over racial injustice. Can the reopening jumpstart the city's economy and what impact will the protests have?
Guests: an all-star panel of NY Times Metro reporters: J. David Goodman, Jeff Mays and Matthew Haag.
Segment two: Donald Trump has a full plate of difficult domestic issues, but he's also facing major foreign policy problems. The U.S. is in a virtual cold war with China and Trump is isolated on the world stage. Guest: Pulitzer Prize winning NY Times Op-Ed columnist Bret Stephens.
