TweetEpisode Details
Original tape date: January 14, 2009.In this episode, Sheryl welcomes Lily Koppel to the program. You've seen her byline in “The New York Times” and other publications. But today, she's here to tell us about her relationship with another writer: a young girl who lived on the East Side of Manhattan. Starting in August of 1929, she wrote in her diary every day. Lily's odyssey, which began when she found the diary, continued as she retraced the life of Florence Wolfson. It's brought the past face to face for both Lily and Florence. The result was “The Red Leather Diary: Reclaiming a Life Through the Pages of a Lost Journal.” It has just been released in paperback by HarperCollins.
