But the inevitable wear and tear of life takes its toll. We lose some of the essentials that allow us to successfully manage our lives. And when you add illness to the pileup, life can be overwhelming. The Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center has become a pioneer for older cancer patients with additional needs. It's opened a geriatric service in the Department of Medicine. Heading the unit is Dr. Beatriz Korc-Grodzicki, who is uniquely qualified to lead the service that tries to do more than just mend the body. She joins Sheryl in this episode.
