Original tape date: April 21, 2010.Sheryl welcomes Meghan Healey, award-winning costume and set designer whose work has been seen in theater, opera and film productions in New York City and around the country, and who is teaching those skills as Assistant Professor of Costume and Scenic Design at Queens College of the City University of New York. This semester she and her students have gone underground, where they are interviewing the city's subway riders and collecting stories about their below-ground experiences for a play that uses puppets and is based on Dante's “Inferno.” It is called “Subterraneo: A Cruel Puppet's Guide to Underground Living,” and Healey says the stories collected so far are “funny, profane and moving.”
