She's made our nation's history accessible and wonderfully readable with her books, “Revolutionary Mothers: Women in the Struggle for America's Independence,” “First Generations: Women in Colonial America,” just to name a few. Her latest, “Civil War Wives: The Life and Times of Angelina Grimke Weld, Varina Howell Davis, and Julia Dent Grant” has just been published by Alfred A. Knopf and is as riveting and informative as it is entertaining.
