Dr. Danielle Moss-Lee makes it clear that the YMCA of today, is not, in many ways, the "Y" that Sheryl remembers: sewing classes, cooking lessons, swimming. Dr. Moss-Lee says the 154 years old institution is responding to the needs of the population for economic empowerment: job-training, child care, legal counseling, women's health and domestic abuse issues, to name a few. Danielle did say that sewing classes were still offered.
