The Food Bank procures and distributes food to more the 1,000 community-based programs, helping to provide 400,000 free meals a day for New Yorkers in need. The numbers are astounding: 2.9 million New Yorkers (and increasing) have difficulty affording food! Ms. Purvis talks enthusiastically about Nutrition Education and programs designed to address the issue of hunger.
